Male Underwear Model

December 10, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Older sketch of a guy in boxer briefs. This is from an underwear ad. I don’t have a male model hanging around here, willing to pose in his undies so I can sketch him. :( :)

I *may* have overdone the shading a bit. ;)

(Captain) Sam Carter

December 10, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Carter’s rank was still captain at this point. This (older) sketch was done using a liquid graphite pencil called Ingenuity, made by Papermate. It’s like drawing with a pencil that feels like a ballpoint pen. Definitely an interesting experience.

I don’t know if these “pencils” are still being made. I do know that I have 6 spare refills in addition to the two that came in the two “pencils” I have.

Stevie Ray Vaughan Pencil Sketch

December 10, 2008 · Leave a Comment

This is the start of me trying to update this blog with a ton of unposted sketches. A ton.
This is an older pencil sketch of SRV. I love his music. His performance on the Live at the El Mocambo DVD is unreal.

My left hand — yet again

January 1, 2007 · 4 Comments

Since the first two tries didn’t quite work out, I decided to try it in pencil. But I think I’ve figured out what I did wrong, so there will probably be another one of these in the near future. Be afraid. Be very afraid…

Jeff, take two

Took a couple of tries to get his eyes right, then everything else sorta fell into place.

They don’t always go the way you want

December 15, 2006 · Leave a Comment

The face came out too fat, the shading is all wrong. When I realized it wasn’t going quite right, I tried to fix it, but that doesn’t always work.
